The 9 most Instagrammable spots in Medellin
If you’re heading to Medellin and want to make sure that your Insta feed stays on point while you’re away, well you’re in luck! Not only is the climate in Medellin perfect for looking the part (named the City of Eternal Spring because of the cool climate and great weather) whatever your budget there are tonnes of great spots to take a killer selfie to make all your friends jealous!
Angel wings, El Poblado– No self respecting Instagrammer’s feed should be without a shot in front of street art angel wings. If you’re staying in Parque Lleras, head along the south side of Calle 10A and there are three to choose from!
Street art, Comuna 13– The tour of Comuna 13 is an insight into the local culture of one of Medellin’s previously most dangerous neighbourhoods, an opportunity to look at some amazing street art and also one of the city’s best viewpoints all rolled into one! It really is not to be missed!
Tres Cruses viewpoint– Not only is Tres Cruces ones of the best viewpoints of the city, there is a free outdoor calisthenics gym at the top! So you can get your pump on while soaking in some epic views!
Envy Rooftop bar, The Charlee Hotel– Probably Medellin’s most stylish hotel. Even if you’re budget doesn’t stretch to staying at The Charlee, the rooftop bar and pool is open to the public so there is no excuse for missing out on the panoramic views over the city, aquarium style pool, fusion cocktails and mouth watering appetisers!
Trip to Guatape– If you have a little longer in Medellin, make sure that a trip to Guatape is on your itinerary. The views over the lake make for a stunning landscape Instagram shot! To truly enjoy your stay, look into a visit to Luxe by The Charlee. The views over the lake are second to none and the Beachclub is the perfect way to spend the day!
The Metrocable to Parque Arvi– One of Medellin’s great recent social investments is it’s network for cable cars around the mountainous city. The Metrocable to Parque Arvi also presents a great opportunity to explore the wilderness of Medellin and the views are pretty unparalleled around the city. Definitely a view you do not want to miss!
Parque de las Luces, El Centro– The Park of the Lights is a wonderful symbol of the shining light of Medellin’s future against darkness of its past. Plus it’s a pretty special photo opportunity you won’t find elsewhere!
Jardim Botanico de Medellin– The botanical gardens offer a lovely spot to relax and immerse yourself in the flora and fauna of the city… for Medellin this means brightly coloured flowers and wild Iguanas! The perfect way to brighten up your Insta!
Pergamino Café, Parque Lleras– What would Instagram be without a plethora of artisan coffee latte art?! Well, for the coffee lovers amongst you, do not leave Medellin without stopping by Pergamino for one of their lattes or flat whites, they really are a work out art! Plus, the coffee itself has the edge over a lot of the other cafes in Medellin as they grow and roast their coffee locally from their own coffee farm! It doesn’t get fresher than that!
